5 MINUTES WITH OUR SUPERSTAR, JESS STEVENSON

Many of you have had the pleasure of meeting Jess, but for those of you who haven’t we caught up with Jess so that you can get to know her! Jess is our Executive Assistant & Event Coordinator and works tirelessly behind the scenes of Active Farmers in Tasmania and helps keep our events, everything and everyone organised and on track, very efficiently! Jess has been an absolute godsend and plays an integral role in the Active Farmers network and it has been a feather in our cap getting Jess onboard!!! 

Tell us a bit about you and where you grew up?

Tassie born & bred, grew up on small farm outside Launceston, went to Ag College in Vic then returned to Tas where lived on properties in Northern Tas until 2006 when my daughter and I moved to town. I’ve been involved in rural industries most of my career including merchandise and real estate, and now Active Farmers. Outside of work, I am a volunteer photographer for some sporting clubs, and love getting out and about with my drone and caravan. 

When did you start working with Active Farmers?

I’ve been with AF 12 months now. 

What has been your highlight/s this year?

I can honestly say that the R4R was my absolute highlight! The Games of course closely behind. The challenge of organising events like these, from start to finish, watching people engaged in the cause and enjoying the activities and social interaction makes it so worthwhile. 

What do you like the most about Active Farmers?

What Active Farmers stands for! What we are able to provide for small farming communities and those people in need around Australia makes me feel good. Ginny and her team have achieved so much in such a short time, and I’m blessed to be able contribute behind the scenes to that.

What are you most looking forward to in the New Year of Active Farmers?

The new year...meeting new people and introducing Active Farmers to more communities. And I’m excited of course about the events that we have on the calendar! And meeting baby Stevens no3!
