Active Farmer Christmas Workout

Firstly, I want to wish all Active Farmers a very happy Christmas surrounded by family and friends.

 

If you are planning on indulging tomorrow (rightly so) I thought, I would post a 35-minute workout that I use when I don’t have much time. Why not kick start your metabolism tomorrow morning and give yourself an extra energy boost with a short/high intensity workout to make your day extra enjoyable J

 

Warm up - 5 minutes

 

·             Walking/jogging for 3 minutes

·             Active stretching for 3 minutes – shoulder circles at the same time as calf stretches, core twist, inner thigh stretches, hamstrings swings and 10 deep squats

 

Circuit 1 – 7 minutes

 

·             25m sprint up and back

·             10 mountain climbers

·             plank with 10 alternate leg raises

·             20 twist crunches

·             20 jump lunges or alternate lunges

·             repeat

1 minute rest after 7 minutes

 

Circuit 2 – 7 minutes

 

·             25m sprint up and back

·             10 jump in/out (start on toes and hands, then jump both legs outwards, then back in)

·             10 push-ups

·             plank with 10 alternate leg raises

·             20 squats with a jump

·             10 dips

·             repeat

1 minute rest after 7 minutes

 

Circuit 3 – 7 minutes

·             repeat one round of circuit 1 & 2 alternatively

 

Cool down – 6 minutes

 

·             2 minutes of slow jogging/walking

·             4 minutes of stretching of your choice (make sure you stretch and try to target each major muscle group)
